The Golf R.

The new Golf R is far and away the most powerful production Golf Volkswagen has ever made. With its direct injected, turbo charged intercooled 2.0 litre TSI engine it produces an impressive 199kW and 350Nm of torque. Recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the four wheel drive Golf R coupled with a 6 speed DSG gearbox sprints to 100km/h in 5.5 seconds. With performance like that it's easy to see why it replaces the V6 R32.

The new Golf R is visually powerful. In addition to its addictive performance and 4Motion driveability, you get aggressive sports styling right around the car - gorgeous new "Talladega"alloys in either 18" as standard or 19" as an option, Bi-xenon headlights with dynamic corning lights, twin exhaust pipes in chrome and stunning high gloss back accents.

The Golf R is the personification of performance inside and out. Sports seats with Black sports fabric. Leather covered multi-function sports steering wheel with DSG paddles, RCD510 stereo system with 8 speakers and Climatronic air conditioning. All of which provides uncompromising comfort to match its peformance.

The new Golf R is even faster than the previous Golf R32 despite being down two cylinders. And it manages to do it all on much less, with the hi-tech TSI engine using only 8.5 litres/100km. That's 21% less than its predecessor
