Frequently the drivers are spending a lot of time on thoroughly cleaning the outside of the car, in order to prevent rust damage and scratches. The care of the interior is often neglected due to time constraints. However, if you like to sit in a clean car, but would not want to spend much time on the cleaning, the following tips are for speeding up the cleaning of the interior. Cleaning of plastic parts and dash panel
Caution: Cleaning products containing solvents may affect the material and damage it. Further cleaning tips
Cloth seat covers and fabric trim on doors, headliner, etc. should be cleaned with a special interior cleaner or with dry foam and a soft brush. General cleaning Soiled leather surfaces should be cleaned with a moisten cotton or woollen cloth. Removal of more stubborn soiling More stubborn soiling should be cleaned with a cloth and a mild soap solution (two tablespoons of a neutral soap solution diluted in one litre of water). You have to take care that the water does not soak through the leather or soaks into seams. Please use a soft, dry cloth to wipe dry the leather. Leather Care The leather should be treated semi-annually with a leather care product available from Volkswagen Service®. Apply the products very sparingly. Then wipe off with a soft cloth. Volkswagen endeavours to preserve the special properties of leather, a natural product. Because of the natural properties of the specially selected types of leather (sensitivity to oil, grease, dirt, etc.) a certain care should be taken in the daily use and the care. Dust and dirt particles in pores, creases and seams may scour and damage the surface. If the car is exposed to direct sun for long periods, please protect the leather from fading. Minor changes in colour are normal when using high quality natural leather. |
