After Market Tuning.

Volkswagen New Zealand is obliged to inform the manufacturer, about any aftermarket activities which will influence the original functionality of our vehicles. The vehicle in its original condition is designed and built with the aim to fulfil its purpose correctly in a defined environment and under certain conditions. Aftermarket modifications can cause damage to the engine, management system, engine or gearbox components, brake systems and drive train components. This is because they will not have been designed for the applied higher loads or changed operating characteristics.

All modified units or parts and also all adjoining areas affected by the aftermarket changes, are excluded from manufacturer’s warranty. We’d like to state that the adjoining areas are typically engine, turbocharger, pressure charger, gearbox suspension drive train parts and electrical or electronic parts.

In conclusion the long term effect of aftermarket modifications very often becomes an issue after the warranty period and with the second owner. We need to not only protect the integrity of the vehicle but also the interests of all our customers and hence we do not condone the installation of aftermarket components or software.
