When checking the oil level when the engine is warm please turn the engine off and wait for a few minutes, so that the oil can flow back into the sump. The oil level can be checked on a cold engine immediately.

How to check the oil level- Special care must be taken when working on the engine or in the engine compartment!
- The car should be parked on a level surface.
- Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key.
- Apply the hand brake.
- Move the gear lever into the idling position or the selector lever into position P
- Allow the engine to cool down.
- Before opening the bonnet, read and observe the warnings “safety instructions on working in the engine compartment” contained in the vehicle wallet.
- Open the bonnet (before opening the bonnet make sure that the windscreen wiper blades are resting on the windscreen, failing which the paintwork may be damaged.)
- Pull the release lever underneath the dash panel.
- Lift the bonnet using the release lever and open the bonnet.
- Pull out the oil dipstick.
- Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth and insert it as far as it will go.
- Pull the dipstick out again and read the oil level and add oil as necessary.
- Replace the dipstick, pushing it in as far as if will go.
- Close the bonnet.
