The importance of the service schedule We confirm the date of delivery in the service schedule. This date is the commencement of the warranty for your car. The car data stated in the service schedule will ensure that the correct parts are always fitted. The data help ensure that your car can be repaired without difficulty even after many years of use. The service schedule also informs you of which service is to be carried out when, and the work it entails. Proof of service carried out is a precondition for the mobility guaranty provided by your Dealer. (Check with your Service Centre). To ensure that the service schedule is at hand when you need it, it should be kept in the vehicle wallet. Please remember to pass this service schedule to the next owner when selling the car. Road worthiness by maintenance By having the maintenance service carried out regularly by Volkswagen Service ® you can establish the pre requisites for fuel efficient driving. The level of maintenance of the engine not only affects the road worthiness of the car and maintains the value but also the fuel consumption. A badly tuned engine may result in a fuel consumption that is 10% higher than normal. Depending on how you drive and the conditions in which the car is used, oil consumption can be up to 1.0 litres/1000km. Engine oil consumption is likely to be higher for the first 5000 km. For this reason the engine oil level must be checked at regular intervals, preferably when filling the tank and before a journey. |
