When and why did you start sailing? 

About age 8, first my parents got my brother into the sport and then soon after myself. 

What’s the best part of your sport? 

I love a lot of different parts about my sport, being out on the water. Every day there’s always something new and exciting happening. The different challenges you face on and off the water. 

What’s your most memorable moment and Why? 

Winning a medal in London. We had put in so much work before hand and to see it all come together and pay off was pretty special. 

What Volkswagen do you currently drive? 

Passat Alltrack 4WD 

What’s the best feature/gadget of this car?

Massive boot space to throw all my gear into. 4WD so I can go anywhere and not get stuck. 

What is your dream car?

For going on missions around NZ I would have to go for a 4WD Amarok.

Who is your sporting idol?

No one person, when I was growing up a few of the Olympians and obviously a few people out of the sailing world

What’s your nickname?


What do you do to relax? 

Surfing , kitesurfing, mountainbiking etc 

If you weren’t a World Class sailor, what would you be doing?

I'm half way through an engineering degree, but I can't ever see myself having a standard job

Keep learning

What is your number 1 goal in the next 12 months?

Winning the Olympic test event and defending our world title. Then onto Rio.
