Roadside Assistance Programme
A comprehensive roadside assistance program that guarantees your mobility when you’re travelling on the road irrespective of age, mileage or model.
Rather than finding a tow truck in the dead of night, relying on friends or family or simply counting on someone to stop and help, a single free call will have assistance on the way to get you and your Volkswagen mobile again.
Volkswagen and the First Assistance have joined forces to create the Volkswagen Roadside Assistance Programme.

How will it help me
If your Volkswagen is immobilised for any reason (even mislaid keys, lack of fuel or a puncture) one phone call to Volkswagen Assistance will quickly provide help - anywhere in New Zealand.
If you’re 100 kms or more from home, and the problem can’t reasonably be repaired within 24 hours, we will provide:
- Transport to the nearest authorised Volkswagen dealer or your home.
- Up to 3 nights accommodation for yourself and those travelling with you.
- A rental car for up to three days or alternative ground transport home or on to your destination.
If you break or lose your key, we’ll arrange the services of a reliable locksmith.
If your windscreen shatters we will refer you to the nearest authorised Volkswagen repairer.
We’ll provide 24 hour access to trained medical staff who will advise you by phone. We can help arrange hospital admission, transfer your medical records, help get treatment nearer to home, or talk with your family doctor, relatives
and friends anywhere in New Zealand.
In an emergency, we can help! We’ll assist in cancelling and re-issuing credit cards, transferring urgent messages, or transporting replacement clothing to you.
We will pass on any urgent messages so family and friends won’t worry about you.

How do I qualify?
If your Volkswagen was purchased new from an authorised New Zealand Volkswagen dealer, you are automatically covered for the period of the warranty. All you have to do is maintain your Volkswagen according to the manufacturers schedule at an authorised Volkswagen dealer.
After the new car warranty has passed, you can continue to receive the benefits of the Volkswagen Roadside Assistance programme between scheduled Volkswagen Services.*, simply by continuing to get your Volkswagen serviced at any of our authorised Volkswagen dealerships or service centres. Just contact your local Volkswagen dealer or service centre and talk to one of our friendly Service Advisors to find out how to extend this programme.
You can be confident that when your car is serviced at an authorised dealer, it is looked after by trained and experienced professionals using the correct tools with the latest factory information. And of course, they will have fitted only genuine Volkswagen parts.
