The new T‑Roc line-up is dressed to thrill in 2022.

Harnessing its dynamic combination of beauty and power, Volkswagen has today unveiled its new 3-pronged T‑Roc line-up; featuring the T‑Roc Life 2WD, the T‑Roc R-Line 2WD and the ultra-impressive new T‑Roc R AWD.

This much coveted car doesn’t disappoint as it introduces a sharpened exterior design, enhanced technical, safety and infotainment features and a refined interior. All exude the bold personality and confidence that has quickly made the T‑Roc a ‘Kiwi’ favourite in the increasingly popular small-SUV market

“The new Volkswagen T‑Roc line up is strong, but it’s the highly anticipated baby ‘R’ that has our staff and dealerships buzzing. We know it’s going to be a hit; broadening out the T‑Roc appeal and attracting a new audience with its balanced sport and style credentials paired with perfect performance,” says Greg Leet, General Manager of Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles.

“If we’ve learnt anything from the previous R launches, these won’t last long; both times saw us selling out early arrivals and for good reason.”

New and standard features added across the range

Unrivalled in performance and with upgrades to the interior, technology and exterior, these incremental changes make a great product ever better - stealing the show with its sporty styling and athletic exterior.

With LED headlights standard across the range, the newly restyled exterior and the four new paint colours, the T‑Roc will leave an impression on everyone, before they even get behind the wheel.

Key Features For The New T‑Roc R

Introducing an elevated combination of beauty and power, the new T‑Roc ‘R’ offers a few impressive upgrades from driving dynamics and infotainment, to its interior styling and exterior design, bringing excitement and the thrill of motorsports to your everyday driving.

Driving Dynamics

Featuring a 2.0 TSI four cylinder engine with a highly responsive turbo-charger, the power in the T‑Roc R is doubled over other variants to a whopping 221kW with 400Nm of torque. This allows the driver to make use of superb power delivery across a wide range of engine speeds. The Volkswagen DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) system also replaces the standard suspension with an Active Damper allowing the driver to tune to different profile selections. Lastly, the 4MOTION all-wheel-drive (AWD) system ensures excellent traction, handling and steering response whilst constantly monitoring driving conditions.

Infotainment System and Convenience Features

Those who love the convenience of everything integrated will like the upgraded ‘Discover Pro’ Navigation Infotainment system which includes a 9.2” TFT-LCD colour touch screen display, built-in satellite navigation, Wireless App-Connect (Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™), Bluetooth® phone connectivity and audio streaming with voice control.  All this enjoyed in the comfort of an interior with 'R’ exclusive ‘Nappa’ leather appointed front sports seats, a ‘R’ leather covered multifunction steering wheel with ‘R’ gearshift paddles, ‘R’ exclusive front aluminium scuff plates and an interior blue ambient lighting that just guarantees the right mood to meet your listening pleasure.

Make every journey an experience with the addition of a ‘Beats’ premium sound system and a Panoramic sunroof in the optional Tech Package (Exclusive to R-Line & R).

Exterior Design

The new T‑Roc R features IQ. Matrix LED Headlights with multiple individual modules and an LED Light Bar, enabling dynamic high-beam control and cornering lights. Other adornments include specifically designed front and rear bumpers, air intakes, blue brake callipers with the ‘R’ logo, and a body coloured rear spoiler. Ensuring sporty styling and feel are the 19” Estoril Alloy Wheels and the choice of an optional Akrapovič titanium sports exhaust to add that special ‘pop and crackle’ to lend a deeper, throatier sound to the whole driving experience
