Volkswagen Launches the Highly Anticipated Electric ID. Range
Volkswagen announces the arrival of the much-anticipated ID. range to New Zealand. The 100% electric SUVs combine space, range, technology and performance, making them attractive to consumers who value sustainability and practicality.

The ID. has been specifically designed to cater to the modern lifestyle of our target consumers. With two new models the PRO and PRO+, the ID. range stands out in the electric SUV segment with its impressive design and sustainable electric performance. One of the key features is their notable allelectric range and energy consumption. With a 77kWh battery (Net), the ID.4 WLTP driving range is 519km and ID.5 530km, allowing drivers to master their daily driving routes.
The introduction of the ID. is part of Volkswagen’s commitment to sustainable mobility and part of the brand's wider road map to become net carbon-neutral by 2050. Volkswagen CEO Ralf Brandstätter says: “The market launch of our world car (The ID.4) is an important strategic milestone for the brand.” With more than 170,000 units delivered last year, the ID. has made a big entrance to the electric landscape.
Getting behind the wheel of the ID. is an intuitive experience. The vehicle senses your presence and automatically starts when you sit in the driver's seat using the smart key. With its powerful 150kW/310Nm electric motor, the ID. accelerates dynamically from a standstill, providing instant torque.
The ID.4 combines the functionality of an SUV with practicality and ample space, while the ID.5 is stylish and sporty. The ID.4 has the standard SUV body shape with a strong masculine appearance and the ID.5 enjoys the distinctive coupe style. Further features include 3D LED tail lights with dynamic turn signals and a visionary light bar that extends to the front and rear of the vehicle.
Inside the ID. vehicles, you'll find a spacious and comfortable interior, providing plenty of legroom and customisable features for a personalised driving experience. With a 12-inch central touch display (exclusive to ID.4 PRO+ and ID.5s), multifunction steering wheel with touch operation and vibration feedback. The convenient electric adjustment and memory function for the seats are included in the PRO+ models.
