Our customers, colleagues and communities are at the heart of everything we do. 

With the rapidly developing COVID-19 situation we are following government advice and working with our dealer network to take the appropriate actions to maintain the health and safety of our customers and staff. 

We know these are uncertain and challenging times and we are here to help. We will keep this page updated with any new information we have relating to COVID-19 and the impact on our staff, dealerships and customers. Our team are also on hand for any queries you may have over the coming weeks.

Dealerships.

As a result of the Government’s announcement regarding a nationwide closure on non-essential services, our dealerships will be closed as of 5pm on Wednesday 25th March for a minimum of four weeks or until advised otherwise.  

Dealership staff will remain available to talk to you about your vehicle requirements. 

During this time, our dealerships will be shut down in line with the government policy, but some will have on-call teams available for urgent repairs to emergency service vehicles, essential business vehicles or the vehicles of people providing essential services. Please check your local dealerships websites for the latest information. 

Roadside Assistance remains in place. Call 0800 577 599 and our team will organise help.

Volkswagen New Zealand Head Office.

The office is closed from 5pm on Wednesday 25th March for four weeks or until advised otherwise.  

We are still here to help. During this time the Volkswagen New Zealand team will be working from home. 

Our Parts Distribution Centre will provide essential services for emergency parts when required during this time.

Is my local dealership still open?

Due to the latest announcements from the New Zealand Government, all Volkswagen dealerships will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020. During this time, there will be on-call teams available for urgent repairs to emergency service vehicles, essential business vehicles or the vehicles of people providing essential services.

Can I still contact a dealership via telephone?

With our dealerships currently closed, if we are not be able to attend to your call, we can still be contacted via email. Visit our dealer contacts page for email details.

Can I still buy or test drive a car?

To help protect the health and safety of our customers and staff, all test drives will be postponed. If you would like to talk to someone about purchasing a vehicle, visit our dealer page to talk to someone that can help. You can still browse the range online and we will respond to any specific enquires.

What are my options if my vehicle breaks down?

Our roadside assistance is considered an essential service and will still be operating. Call 0800577599 for assistance.

Can I still drive my Volkswagen if service work is required but I can’t book in at my local dealership?

It may be appropriate to postpone service or maintenance work if your local dealership is currently unable to offer a booking. If you have a red warning light or have a safety concern regarding the vehicle, you should stop using the vehicle immediately and contact Volkswagen Roadside Assistance on 0800577599

When will the dealerships be open again?

We are following Government guidelines and will re-open as soon as it is safe to do so. At this stage advice is to close for a minimum of four weeks, we will keep you up to date as the situation progresses.

Why are you still running ads/ why am I still being delivered ads?

We have taken every measure to pause promotional activity during this close down period. If you have seen an ad from Volkswagen it has been in error, please send us an example so we can investigate further. We will still be in touch via our social communities but not for promotional purposes.

Do I still need to bring my vehicle in for a recall?

Recalls are currently paused with the COVID-19 close down period. A team member will be in touch to arrange an alternative time.
